The RM of Dauphin maintains roughly 530 miles of road. During the summer months a fleet of 4 graders can complete a full round of blading within 4 weeks, as long as the weather permits. In the winter months, 4 snow plows and 1 plow truck are able to clear all roads within approximately 2 1/2 days. Of course, weather and breakdowns can always add additional time.

Along with the regular maintenance of snow plowing and blading, the public works department along with contractors apply roughly 40,000 yards of gravel yearly to the roads and maintain numerous approaches and thru-grade culverts throughout the municipality.

Drainage and Road Construction Projects are determined every year through Council's financial plan and are determined on the availability of grants, reserves and general tax dollars. These projects range anywhere from minor ditch clean outs to major drain construction or bridge replacements as well as clay capping and rebuilding/reshaping many miles of road.
